Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently conducted an inspection of the under-construction Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar. During his visit, project officials assured him that all remaining work would be completed by November 15, ensuring the airport’s readiness for inauguration.

The Chief Minister thoroughly reviewed progress across key areas, including the domestic terminal, inauguration site, security arrangements, traffic management, and other ongoing development projects. Following the site visit, he held a detailed meeting with officials from Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), the construction agency, along with senior administrative and police officers, to evaluate each component of the project.

Highlighting the importance of the airport, Yogi Adityanath described the Noida International Airport as a symbol of Uttar Pradesh’s rapid development. He urged all departments to maintain strict timelines and avoid any delays that could impact the inauguration schedule. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for enhanced beautification, cleanliness, and passenger amenities within the airport complex and surrounding areas. He also directed officials to ensure seamless connectivity through well-coordinated road and Metro link projects, which must be completed on priority.

During the inspection, Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, presented updates on civil aviation infrastructure, security arrangements, and utility systems such as control units, substations, and explosives management. Kiran Jain, Chief Operating Officer, detailed progress on permit issuance, passenger safety protocols, runway testing, and CISF deployment. The CM also reviewed advancements in cargo handling facilities, fire station readiness, water treatment systems, drainage networks, and parking infrastructure.

Spread over 3,300 acres, the Noida International Airport is envisioned as one of India’s most modern and efficient aviation hubs. According to a government spokesperson, a total of 6,700 acres have already been acquired, with the remaining 5,100 acres to be secured within the next three months. The land acquisition cost is estimated at ₹5,000 crore, while construction expenses are expected to reach approximately ₹7,000 crore.

Once operational, the Noida International Airport will not only boost regional connectivity but also make Uttar Pradesh the first state in India with five international airports, marking a major milestone in the state’s journey toward infrastructural excellence and global integration.
