NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ on Friday described Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) regions as “the crown jewels of Uttar Pradesh, just as Kashmir is the crown of India.”
During his two-day visit to Gautam Budh Nagar, the minister reviewed several key infrastructure and industrial projects and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting investment and industrial growth.
“Promoting industry and investment is our government’s top priority. With new units coming up, employment opportunities will increase, and Uttar Pradesh will continue its journey to becoming the best-performing state,” Nandi said after his review meetings.
He directed senior officials of the Noida Authority to ensure that no project exceeds its stipulated completion time and instructed them to expand the land bank while improving coordination with architects to expedite building plan approvals. After examining the approval process, the minister pointed out procedural delays and ordered the creation of a mechanism to address deficiencies promptly.
The minister’s review covered critical areas such as land acquisition, infrastructure quality, construction timelines, and pending project lotteries. He instructed authorities to accelerate stalled projects, resolve pending issues, and enhance transparency and efficiency in operations.
A special five-hour review meeting focused on resolving long-standing builder–buyer disputes and clearing property registration backlogs. Nandi also emphasised the need to improve the aesthetics of the Delhi–Noida entry gate to reflect the region’s growing stature.
Taking a swipe at previous administrations, Nandi said, “In these eight years, Uttar Pradesh has truly established itself.”
He also expressed concern over delays in engineering and power-related works and instructed officials to expedite the disposal of pending court affidavits. Legal representatives with unsatisfactory performance will be replaced, he said, while seeking a detailed report on pending and resolved legal cases.
Nandi further directed large-scale plantation, cleaning, and proper maintenance in horticulture parks, warning officials against symbolic fines. “There should be proper quota-based penalties where needed,” he added.
Later in the day, the minister also chaired a review meeting of the Greater Noida Authority, continuing his assessment of key development initiatives across the district.
