The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has decided to appoint a professional consultant to prepare a detailed Service Master Plan for its notified areas. The plan will focus on strengthening essential infrastructure such as water supply, sewerage systems, and stormwater drainage to support the region’s long-term residential, commercial, and industrial growth.

According to officials, the Service Master Plan will assess existing utility systems, identify infrastructure gaps, and define a clear roadmap for their augmentation, optimisation, and modernisation. This step is aimed at ensuring that infrastructure development keeps pace with the rapid expansion taking place across the YEIDA region.

While Master Plan 2041 provides the statutory framework for overall urban development, the Service Master Plan will serve as a technical, sector-specific document. It will translate the broader vision of Master Plan 2041 into reliable, on-ground infrastructure systems that can meet both current and future demands.

As part of the assignment, the consultant will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of existing water supply networks, sewerage infrastructure, and stormwater drainage systems. Their capacity, efficiency, and performance will be analysed in detail. Based on these findings, an integrated planning framework will be developed to address present needs as well as projected population growth and development activity.

A YEIDA official stated that the objective is to develop a future-ready and integrated Service Master Plan aligned with Master Plan 2041. The plan will also ensure seamless integration of earlier service plans with updated land-use proposals, population projections, and evolving development requirements.

The consultant will study land-use patterns, demographic characteristics, industrial and institutional activity, soil conditions, climate factors, surface water bodies, and environmentally sensitive zones. Natural drainage channels, catchment areas, watershed boundaries, and existing stormwater nallahs will be mapped in detail to improve flood management and water sustainability.

To ensure accuracy on the ground, extensive surveys and data collection will be carried out. This will include field verification and mapping of existing infrastructure such as water pipelines, sewer lines, manholes, pumping stations, drainage networks, and stormwater conveyance systems.

For homebuyers, investors, and developers, this initiative reflects YEIDA’s commitment to planned, sustainable, and infrastructure-driven development. Strong utility planning enhances liveability, reduces future risks, and increases the long-term value of properties across the Yamuna Expressway region.
